Special club activities for 2008

Sunday 6th April - Fun Gala
The Fun Gala is our major swimming event of the year and is held with the
help of Eastbourne Lions. This event aims to involve as many of our
members as possible. The Gala starts at 11.30am.
Pictured right is the Ball Game, when 400 play balls are set
loose in the shallow end. The 2008 event was won by the Blue team. For

Friday 6th June 2008 - Annual General Meeting
The 36th Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held in the EAVS
meeting rooms off Saffrons Road, Eastbourne at 7.30 pm.
The Committee page has a photo of the Committee.
At the meeting, the Club Shield award will be announced.

Saturday 2nd August - Garden Party
A new social and fundraising event. Last year we all relaxed in brilliant sunshine in
Mary's garden at Polegate and enjoyed a cream tea and masses of cakes.
£387 was raised for club
funds.
This year's Garden Party is from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday 2nd August.
Entrance £5.

Sunday 24th August - Fun Walk.
We have a
team of walkers to help raise funds for our club at the Eastbourne Rotary
Fun Day and Sponsored Walk on Sunday 24th August.
The walk starts on the
Western Lawns at 11 am and we are aiming to go as far as Treasure Island
and back. We should finish the 3 mile walk in time for the usual afternoon
swimming at Motcombe. Sponsor forms and more details are available from
Rowena.

Friday 12th December 2008 - Christmas Party
The 2004, 5, 6 and 2007 Parties were a great success at the Congress Hotel in
Carlisle Road and we have booked again for December 2008.
The evening includes traditional Christmas dinner followed by a disco. A
raffle and the Grand Christmas Draw are also held during the party.
Venue - The Congress Hotel, Carlisle Road, Eastbourne;
Time - 7 pm for 7.30 to about 11.30 pm;

The Club will be closed for two weeks during the Christmas holiday.
