Special club activities for 2011

Sunday 17th April - Fun Gala The Fun Gala is our major swimming event of the year and is held with the help of Eastbourne Lions. This event aims to involve as many of our members as possible. The Gala starts at 11.30am. Pictured right is the 2010 Ball Game which is played in the shallow end. The 2011 event was won by the Blue team - Amos, Neil, Robert, Ray, Linda, Ann, Mags and Tina all won gold medals. For more details see the Fun Gala page.
Friday 3rd June 2011 - Annual General Meeting The 39th Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held in the 3VA meeting rooms off Saffrons Road, Eastbourne at 7.30 pm. The Committee page has a photo of the Committee. At last year's meeting, the Club Shield award for 2010 was given to Peter Sands and the Tim Morris Memorial Rose Bowl to Jill Parker.
Sunday 5th June - Fun Walk. The sponsored walk starts on the Western Lawns at 11.30 am and is organised by Eastbourne Rotary. We walke 3 miles, as far as Treasure Island and back. In 2008 our team walked in pouring rain and we all got soaked to the skin but raised over £500 for our swimming club. In 2009 the sun shone and we raised over £700. In 2010 the sun shone again, what will 2011 bring?
Summer Barbeque Jill and Patrick Parker have again generously offered to host a Summer Barbeque on Saturday 27th August at midday. More details of this delicious meal and fun afternoon will follow but put the date in your diary now.
Christmas Party We have had successful parties at the Congress Hotel in Carlisle Road since 2004 and we have booked again for Friday 9th December 2011. The evening includes traditional Christmas dinner followed by a disco. A raffle and the Grand Christmas Draw are also held during the party.
