Motcombe changing rooms now refurbished

Garden Party This year's Garden Party is from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday 2nd August at 6 Church Road, Polegate. Entrance £5. Fun Walk We have a team of walkers to help raise funds for our club at the Eastbourne Rotary Fun Day and Sponsored Walk on Sunday 24th August. The walk starts on the Western Lawns at 11 am and we are aiming to go as far as Treasure Island and back. We should finish the 3 mile walk in time for the usual afternoon swimming at Motcombe. Sponsor forms and more details are available from Rowena.	Club AGM The 36th Annual General Meeting will be held in the EAVS Meeting Rooms at 7.30 pm on Friday 6th June 2008. Fun Gala Our 2008 Fun Gala was held, with help from Eastbourne Lions, on Sunday 6th April. Heavy snow prevented some members reaching the pool but Claire's "Blue Team" (Mary, Peggy, Emma, John, Maggie and Shirley) were the winners.
Hoist Chairs The club’s hoist at Motcombe Pool is almost 20 years old and the two detachable “Swim chairs” have worn out. We have replaced them at a cost of £2250. This is on top of the annual hoist maintenance costs and pool hire charges. We launched an appeal for additional funding and are pleased to report that the cost of the chairs has now been met. Thanks to Rotary AM, Eastbourne Lions, Esperance Hospital, Club members and Sussex Masonic Charities we also have funding for the annual maintenance cost.

Club Member clocks up 200 miles Peter Sands, a disabled club member since 1987, has now clocked up an amazing total of 200 miles. Peter, who swims at motcombe every week, is pictured above with Club Instructor Chris Merredew presenting him with his certificate. Chris has accompanied him in the pool for most of his miles.
Awards at Club's 35th AGM The Club held its 35th Annual General Meeting on the 1st June 2007. The Club Shield was awarded to Mary Blyth.	2007 Fun Gala The 2007 Fun Gala, held with the help of Eastbourne Lions, was won by the Sovereign "Red" team on Sunday 1st April 2007.
