Christmas Party - Friday 9th December		Summer Barbeque
Christmas is coming and it is time to book your place for the Club Party. Enjoy a superb three course meal, dance to Steve’s Tropical Disco and win lots of prizes on the raffle! Venue - The Congress Hotel, Carlisle Road, Eastbourne, Time - 7 pm for 7.30 to about 11.30 pm; Cost - Tickets only £17 - payable in advance; Starter - Leek & Potato Soup or Melon fan; Main Course - Roast Turkey or Vegetarian option; Dessert - Christmas Pudding or Chocolate Profiteroles.  Choose your menu and put your name on the list by the Poolside notice board, where there are more details of the hotel and menu, or contact Bob and Rowena on telephone 484165 by the 27th November. Grand Christmas Draw Tickets are now available for this year’s Grand Christmas Draw and we have increased the first prize to a whopping £200. To reduce the workload and keep our costs down tickets this year are £1 (so a book of 5 is £5). This is a good opportunity for every member to raise funds for the club and help keep subscription costs low. Remember, the club needs about £5000 a year to make ends meet so please try very hard to sell tickets to friends, family, neighbours and colleagues as well as buying some yourself. All ticket stubs and money to be returned to Rowena by Sunday 4th December please. Arndale "Win a Car" Draw - 14th Dec Our day for selling the “Win a Car” draw tickets at Eastbourne Arndale Centre is Wednesday 14th December from 9 am to 5 pm. Last year we raised £700 for our club at this event and had great fun. To have a successful day we need a minimum of four people at all times. Can you spare a couple of hours to help us sell tickets and promote our club? Rowena will be organising a rota so please volunteer.		Thank you Jill and Patrick for again hosting a fun barbeque this summer. Everyone enjoyed the event on Saturday 27th August which raised £210 for club funds. The food was delicious and the sun shone for a least most of the time. Thanks also to those club members who helped keep costs down by providing salads and desserts. Masons Presentation Following their generous donation of £1,000 for repairs to our hoist, members of the Royal Connaught Lodge enjoyed a visit to the club in July to see the hoist and club in action. Club's 40th Anniversary Next year, 2012, will be the fortieth anniversary of the founding of our club and a special anniversary party is being planned for Saturday 21st July. More details of this will be in future newsletters. 2012 Paralympics Amos has applied on behalf of our club for tickets for next year’s Paralympics and is planning an accessible coach outing to one of the swimming events. We do not know yet if our application is successful so watch this space for further news.
