The Club Shield is awarded annually at the AGM to the swimmer who has made the greatest achievement during the previous year through courage, determination and effort.
The Club Shield for 2009 was presented to Fiona Ray at the poolside. Fiona took part in April’s Fun Gala. It took Fiona a great deal of courage to get into the pool at the gala but once in, accompanied by team leader Gill Briggs, she showed utter determination to compete in all the games. Her efforts were rewarded as her team won the cup. Fiona is pictured centre right as Rowena presents the shield with Chief Instructor Derek in support.
